Hooked on Fishing - Youth Maritime Program
The Youth Martime Program is targeted at young people 15 years and up, who are struggling with mainstream educational pursuits and who have an interest in the Maritime Industry. The program is delivered by lecturers from Challenger TAFE and volunteers from the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club.
The course runs for six weeks and at the completion of the program, participants should have obtained their Certificate 1 in Fishing Operations, Senior First Aid, Occupational Health and Safety at Sea and their Recreational Skippers Ticket. In achieving these certificates, it offers the participants the opportunity to continue with further studies with TAFE, return to school or enter into the Maritime Industry.
